The second half of the season is in full swing! Not long after we scored a podium at my home event, we are back on the road, heading to Snetterton for Round 6 of the Kwik Fit BTCC.
Not only are the circuits at different ends of the country, they’re also polar opposites in nature. The Norfolk track is poker-table-flat and features many fast bends with a long radius, complemented by some of the slowest corners in the country. It’s also the longest lap we race around at nearly 2 minutes – that’s more than double the time it takes to lap Knockhill!
It’s set to be scorching hot throughout the weekend, with temperatures peaking on Sunday at 33 degrees. Add an additional 20-25 degrees on top and you get the heat inside our cockpits, which is pretty unpleasant, especially with 3 layers of fireproofs and a helmet!! It’s going to be a real test of endurance this weekend, so it’s absolutely key to stay hydrated and conserve energy where possible!
Despite these challenges, I feel we are in good shape heading to Norfolk and I’m keen to build on our run of consistent results.
